Thousands Participate in Pro-Palestinian Rallies as Coordinators Pledge to Keep Protesting
Tens of thousands assembled across Australia at pro-Palestinian protests, with organizers vowing to persist in activism after a ceasefire deal negotiated by the American leader in Gaza showed early signs of stability.
Sydney Protest Draws Large Crowd
In Australia's largest city, the pro-Palestine organization claimed 30,000 people had marched from the central park to a nearby green space in the city center after a intended demonstration to the famous building was prohibited by the New South Wales court of appeal last week.
Law enforcement estimated 8,000 people participated in the local rally, with a spokesperson reporting there had been "minimal disturbances".
Nationwide Demonstrations Mark Anniversary

Another organiser who filed the initial request to demonstrate at the famous location maintained that the participants could have peacefully gone to the famous harbourside venue. The senior police representative had earlier informed the judicial body that the plan had "disaster written all over it".
The organiser said on Sunday: "Every single time the law enforcement seeks to prevent our demonstrations or court proceedings, it wakes up a lot of people... to the necessity to organize and stand up against it."
