The Music Icon Portrays a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Fictional Documentary Preview
Charli XCX is gearing up for a major cinematic presence in 2026, kicking off with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Within the project, Charli plays what she calls as a hell version of her own persona.
It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever seen, the star stated.
She further explained in a conversation: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea stemmed from the expectation to create one.
A Sneak Peek into The Project
The first teaser, unveiled on this week, blends authentic footage from her live performances with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.
The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who explained that the story revolves around a scenario where Charli opted for alternate decisions throughout the publicity of her hugely successful record Brat.

The film is just one of many upcoming movie projects for the musician, who recently starred in three cinematic festival entries in the current year.

Future Ventures
The following year will also include the artist with Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.
She also agreed to feature in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my cinematic path, Charli stated. I’m incredibly motivated right now in this area, and I solely want to do projects that excite me.
Soundtrack Involvement
Next February will also bring the release of the filmmaker’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will include fresh tracks from the artist.
She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.
The mockumentary is scheduled to debut on January 30.
